Hello,

We’d like to welcome you and hope you find this information helpful.  If you have any questions or concerns that were not addressed below please feel free to e-mail me and I will be glad to answer them.  Take some time to look through our website.  Check out our pictures from this year’s recital and previous years.  We have a description of classes as well as a price list you may refer to.  Classes begin at $35 monthly….one 30 minute class one time a week.  The price for two 30 min. classes is $46 and so on.  The more you take the cheaper it is.  More than one child in a family….receives a discount.  We have three new classes this year.  Musical theatre, zumba and fitness.   Zumba and fitness have a different pay scale and discounts are not given if you have a child in dance.  Zumba students do however get a cut rate depending on how many classes you sign up for.

If you are interested in filling out a registration form you will be able to print one off the website. Please make sure you are precise with your wishes for days and time you need as well as information requested on the registration form such as address, e-mail and phone numbers in which we can contact you. Please make sure you list the earliest time in which you can get to the studio.  This is how we schedule classes.  We take the time and day you request and start there. You may not get your first choice however if your registration is in by the cutoff date…July 25th you will receive one of your three choices. Exception would be if the classes you have requested are not available due to not enough interest for that class on a day you have chosen. Please make note:  We try our best to make sure you don’t have to pack a bag to come to class.  We try to schedule siblings on the same day and if a child takes multiple classes schedule them back to back.  Sometimes we may wind up with a child having a break in between class but not often.  We do have some students that will have to come two days but that happens usually with older students and when they have over 5 classes. We try to schedule younger students in early afternoon or evening if parents are able to arrive at an early time.  We do have classes available for the student’s that parents work and can’t get to class early as well.

Registration is $20.00 for the first child, $15.00 for each additional child.  Registration is non-refundable and must be paid in advance in order for us to place your child. (Summer classes begin the week of June 27, and run 5 weeks). If you pay a registration fee in the summer you will not be required to pay one in the fall. Exception for refund is if we can’t schedule you in a class for one reason or another….I will refund your money. Refer a friend and if they sign up you will receive a $10.00 credit to use for registration or first month’s tuition.  First month will be prorated and fall classes begin on August 15th. Please don’t panic if you don’t know your schedule weeks ahead of time.  The way we schedule is very time consuming so it takes a little longer than normal to get the scheduling done.  I do not put it up on the website until we are completely done and children have been placed.  You will be notified…..and remember we use your day and times requested so you will receive one of your days and know we open for fall classes beginning the week of  Aug. 15th.  With our cutoff date being July 25th we are working up to the last minute trying to accommodate everyone. We do fill up very quickly so to reserve your day and time requested please don’t wait.  This happens every year and we have people disappointed they don’t get in a particular class their child wanted.

Resha’s is a Christian based studio.  We are conservative in music, costuming and choreography.  Teachers are college graduates and have degrees in dance, or dance education.  We strive to make Resha’s a family atmosphere where children know they are not just a number but are loved, and appreciated for who they are.  We have a curriculum we follow each year and children are placed in dance according to where they are as an individual.  We teach to the highest level in a classroom so no child is left out.  Classes are age appropriate; however this does not mean they are placed with their grade as in school.  We may have a 5 & 6 year old class which means some may be in kindergarten and some in first grade. (Children often have difficulty with this….as they think they have been put in class with babies.)  If we find a child is not in the right class we will speak to you about moving them.  This is done within the first 6 weeks dependant on when we get through our review of students in classes. Please remember age cutoff is October 31st.  I do not recommend young children 5 and under take too many classes.  They get tired and then after a few months want to quit.  I’d prefer putting them in one or two and see how they do with that and if they want to take more adding if the class has an opening.                                                                                                              Ages:  2-3years of age may take creative movement. At 3 they may take ballet, 4 they may ballet, and acrobatics, 5- 7 they may add tap and hip-hop/jazz.  8 years and up may take lyrical and jazz along with other classes listed. Musical theatre is 5 and up.  Children must be good listeners to participate in musical theatre class. Modern class students need to be at least 12. Pointe class age 11 by summer and must have 3 years of consecutive ballet. Pre-pointe must be taken in the summer and students are required to attend 5 lessons. We have added a pre-pointe class this year that will begin in the fall for students that want pointe but don’t fit the criteria.  Students’ will take a pre-pointe class for one year.  They will have a performance in recital for pre-pointe but will not be en-pointe.  Ballet is required along with pointe class. We also have many boy classes available.

Dress Code: We do have a dress code and although we don’t require particular colors I do expect students to dress like dancers. If they look like a dancer they will dance like a dancer. Students may wear any color leotard and tights. A skirt is required for ballet and lyrical. Hair up out of face and off the neck. No jewelry unless small earring studs.  No bras, showing.  They may also wear any color shoe appropriate to their class until time for recital.  If you need shoes:  pink capezio for ballet, white acrobatic, tan tap shoes, foot mittens for lyrical, and tan jazz shoes.  Dancewear Unlimited beside Peebles Dept. Store has a complete list of shoes.  You may purchase leotards and tights, and skirts anywhere.
